Barren Fields, rock, iPad, single channel video, 11” x 24” x 2.5”, 2017.

Barren Fields invites viewers into a juxtaposition between old and new technologies, the natural and digital, rock and tablet. Moving image highlights the stillness of unresponsive physical object, while newer technologies similarly prove unresponsive to human effort. Humor and frustration highlight the inherent use, beauty, and futility of both blank slates, questioning the interactions and responses we expect in our encounters with various technologies.
